The Right Reverend Megan M. Traquair was ordained and consecrated the eighth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California on June 29, 2019 at the Mondavi Center in Davis, CA.
Bishop Megan is an active follower of Jesus Christ and was raised in Santa Barbara when it was a sleepy town, graduated from Pomona College in Claremont and received her MDiv at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, IL. Ordained in 1992 in the Diocese of Los Angeles she has led congregations in Tucson, towns near South Bend and Indianapolis, and Los Angeles. When she was Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Arizona, she ran all aspects of clergy Transition (deployment).
Her interests include gardening, genealogy, hiking and history. Her husband Philip is a pediatrician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. They have been partners and best friends as well as parents. They have two children: Hannah who teaches high school in Tucson, and Benjamin, who is an engineer in Colorado.
The Rector of Church of the Epiphany is the Rev. Mack Olson. His spouse is Jeremy Karagan, and they have two boxer dogs named Truman & Wilmer and a orange tabby cat named Dan.
Fr. Mack has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Prior to his call to ordained ministry, Fr. Mack worked for nearly 20 years in higher education, first at the University of Colorado, and most recently at Sonoma State University as the Director of Judicial Affairs. After joining St. John 's Episcopal Church in Petaluma in 2007, Fr. Mack started the discernment process for Holy Orders, and was ordained as a Deacon on September 10th, 2011, and to the Priesthood on March 24th, 2012.
Before coming to Epiphany, Fr. Mack worked as a hospital chaplain for two and half years at John Muir Health in Concord, California.
The Venerable Cookie Clark is the Deacon at Epiphany. A graduate of the Episcopal School for Deacons, Berkeley, CA, she was ordained on the Fourth of July 2004. She is President of Episcopal Community Services of Northern California and Diocesan Chaplain for the Daughters of King. She is also involved in the Area Agency on Aging, the Vacaville Library Commission, and an AARP Taxaide.
Cookie works with Father Mack training Acolytes, Eucharist Visitors, Lay Preachers, and Eucharistic Ministers as well joining in Newcomers’ and Confirmation classes.
